Yuba County FACT update 8-20-2015

The POT Supporters (Yuba Patients Coalition) finally were able to make a presentation in Yuba Superior Court on August 13, 2015. This was the third or fourth time they had been scheduled and finally their new attorney was prepared. They are attempting to overturn the new Yuba County marijuana cultivation ordinance by claiming they are being discriminated against. This has been tried in other counties and all cases were found in favor of the County. Judge Wirtschafter will make a decision within 60 days.

Yuba County pot measure nears circulation for signatures

Supporters of an initiative that would ask voters to approve a less restrictive Yuba County medical marijuana cultivation ordinance are close to getting the go-ahead to start circulating petitions.
The ballot title and summary for the initiative proposed by the Progressive Business Alliance were required to be completed Thursday by the county counsel's office

Yuba County FACT update 7-17-2015

The POT Supporters suing Yuba County and attempting to overturn the new Yuba County Cultivation Ordinance had another day in Yuba Superior Court. They have hired a new attorney and again was not prepared to move forward. Judge Wirtschafter continued their case until July 28 at 1:30 pm.

Yuba County FACT Update 7-1-2015

Marysville City Marijuana Cultivation Ordinance: Myself and Jerry Crippen met with the Police Chief of Marysville City, Aaron Easton, last week and was provided with a copy of a new Marijuana Cultivation Ordinance that the City Council may soon consider. Specifically they propose to ban all marijuana growing within the City Limits. Yuba County FACT is prepared to support their efforts. It will also be important for Marysville City Residents to support the Council's efforts and attend their meetings.

Yuba City drug bust uncovers $10 million worth of marijuana

Sutter County drug agents say 17,929 marijuana plants worth more than $10 million were destroyed after a drug bust at a property in Yuba City Friday.

Yuba County FACT update 6-5-2015

We had a good turnout at the BOS Meeting on June 2, 2015. Thank you for attending. This was the meeting at which a Representative from a Commercial POT Shop in Sacramento made a presentation asking the Board to consider opening "Medical" Marijuana Dispensaries in Yuba County. He got a cool reception. He also said that without coming to some type of agreement, they would circulate an Initiative Petition to place the issue to the voters. If this comes about, don't sign the petition, because as now written it could:

Santa Cruz man mistaken about pot enforcement in Yuba County

A Santa Cruz man learned the hard way Yuba County does prosecute marijuana-related crimes.
Dustin Dixon, 33, pleaded no contest to a felony charge of manufacturing a controlled substance after a large butane hash oil lab was found on his Yuba County property, along with 88 marijuana plants.

Calif. Supreme Court rejects pot appeal

The state Supreme Court this week summarily denied an appeal filed by Yuba Patients Coalition and six individuals challenging the urgency designation attached to Yuba County's new marijuana cultivation ordinance.
The state's highest court Wednesday posted the notice a petition for review and an application for a stay in enforcement of the ordinance was denied.

F.A.C.T. Update May 22, 2015

The California Supreme Court, on Wednesday May 20th, summarily denied an appeal filed by the Yuba County Marijuana Growers requesting a stay on the enforcement of the new Marijuana Ordinance. They were challenging the Urgency designation. The pot/marijuana growers had previously filed twice in lower courts.

Vasquez recall campaign hits early snag

Paperwork turned into Yuba County election officials Monday for the proposed recall of Supervisor Andy Vasquez fell short of the 20 qualified signatures to move the process forward.
